I am an experienced research manager who specialises in pre-award support, in particular preparing high quality research funding applications. I am lead author of The Research Funding Toolkit, the best-selling grant-writing handbook.

Prior to moving into higher education and the emerging field of research management, I worked in PR and marketing across a variety of brands and organisations including Capital Radio, Cable & Wireless, MTV Networks Europe, Pears Soap, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce and Club 18-30 holidays.
I completed a PhD in Higher Education in 2023.
